Truma RV System Repair & Service in North Alabama
Authorized Truma Service Partner. We repair and service the full Truma product line - water heaters, heating systems, AC, movers, and more. Parts in stock. Most shops can't do this. We can.
Why Most RV Shops Can't Work on Your Truma System
Truma is not a standard RV brand. Their systems - from the AquaGo tankless water heater to the VarioHeat furnace to the Aventa AC - are engineered to a higher spec than most American RV equipment. That precision is what makes them perform so well. It is also why most general RV service shops cannot work on them properly.
Truma restricts parts sales to authorized service partners. A shop without authorization cannot obtain the components needed to complete a repair, even if the technician knows what is wrong. They will either turn you away, order parts through channels that take weeks, or attempt a workaround that voids your warranty.
D&N RV Service is a listed Truma Service Partner. We have the factory training, the diagnostic tools specific to Truma systems, and direct access to genuine Truma parts. If your Truma system has a problem, this is where it gets fixed correctly.
Truma Systems We Service
Truma builds RV systems across every major comfort category. We service all of them.
Water Systems - AquaGo
The Truma AquaGo is a tankless on-demand propane water heater that delivers continuous hot water without a storage tank. It is standard equipment on many Forest River models and premium RV brands.
We service: AquaGo Basic, AquaGo Comfort, AquaGo Comfort Plus. Common repairs include error code diagnosis, ignition failure, decalcification, W27 pump dry faults, W29 demand overload, W30 freeze risk, and freeze damage repair.
Heating Systems - VarioHeat & Combi
The Truma VarioHeat is a compact forced-air propane furnace known for quiet, efficient operation. The Truma Combi handles both space heating and water heating in a single unit, common on higher-end American RVs and European-built coaches.
We service: VarioHeat and Combi units. Common repairs include ignition faults, blower motor failure, error code diagnosis, and gas supply issues.
Air Conditioning - Aventa & Saphir
The Truma Aventa is a rooftop RV air conditioner known for quiet operation and energy efficiency. The Truma Saphir is a combination heating and cooling unit. Both are the current US Truma AC products.
We service: Aventa eco, Aventa eco plus, Aventa comfort, and Saphir. Common repairs include cooling performance issues, control board diagnosis, and filter maintenance.
Operating Systems - Control Panels
Truma's control panels manage and integrate their heating, water heating, and AC systems from a single interface. The CP plus digital panel and the analog rotary panel are the two systems found in US RVs.
We service: CP plus digital control panels and analog control panels. Common issues include unresponsive controls, display faults, and panel replacement when the underlying appliance is being repaired.
Gas Supply - LevelCheck
The Truma LevelCheck uses sonic pulse technology to measure how much propane remains in a cylinder without disconnecting anything. It gives an accurate reading through the cylinder wall in seconds.
We carry: Truma LevelCheck units and can assist with use and troubleshooting. Knowing your actual propane level before a trip or a repair saves time and prevents unnecessary service calls.
Portable Fridges/Freezers - Truma Cooler
The Truma Cooler is a compressor-based portable fridge/freezer that performs reliably regardless of ambient temperature - a significant advantage over traditional absorption units that struggle in heat.
We carry Truma Cooler units and accessories. These units are not generally serviceable - when a compressor cooler fails, replacement is typically the right answer. We can help you select the correct replacement unit.
Common Truma Problems We Diagnose and Fix
Truma systems are precise. When something is off, they tell you - usually with an error code. Here is what we see most often.
AquaGo Error Codes
Truma's error code system is specific. The code points directly to the problem - but resolving it correctly requires a trained technician with the right tools and parts.
- E1 - No flame detected. The unit attempted to light three times and failed. Check propane supply and valve position first.
- W27 - Circulation pump running dry. Water lines likely have trapped air. Systematically open each hot water faucet to purge air from the system.
- W29 - Too high heat demand. You are drawing more hot water simultaneously than the unit can supply. Reduce the number of active hot water outlets.
- W30 - Risk of freezing. Temperature inside the unit has dropped below 27°F. Drain the AquaGo immediately or keep it running in eco or comfort mode to circulate water.
- W31 - Decalcification finished. The AquaGo has completed a full decalcification cycle. Return the unit to eco or comfort mode to clear the code.
AquaGo Water Temperature Problems
If your AquaGo is producing lukewarm water, running cold after a few minutes, or fluctuating between hot and cold, the most common causes are low water flow triggering the minimum activation threshold, limescale restricting heat exchange efficiency, or a failing gas valve. We diagnose flow rate, scale buildup, and gas pressure before recommending any repair.
Combi Not Heating
A Truma Combi that runs but produces little heat - or fails to ignite at all - typically indicates a gas supply problem, a failed ignition electrode, or a blocked burner. Because the Combi handles both water and space heating simultaneously, a fault affects your entire comfort system. We test gas pressure, ignition sequence, and heat exchanger condition before recommending parts.
Truma System Won't Power On
If your Truma control panel is unresponsive or the system fails to start, the cause is often a 12V power supply issue, a blown fuse on the Truma circuit, or a failed control board. Truma systems are sensitive to low voltage - battery condition matters. We test power supply, fusing, and board function before any parts are ordered.
Decalcification Service
Hard water causes limescale to build up inside your AquaGo heat exchanger over time. Truma recommends decalcification at regular intervals - more frequently in areas with hard water. A W31 error code is a direct flag that scale has accumulated to a level affecting performance. We perform the full Truma decalcification procedure using the correct solution and process. This is not a job for vinegar and a garden hose.
Freeze Damage
Truma AquaGo and Combi units can sustain damage if water is left in the system during freezing temperatures without proper winterization. Freeze damage typically cracks heat exchanger components or fractures water connections inside the unit. We assess the damage, identify what needs replacement, and advise whether repair or unit replacement is the right call based on the extent of damage.
Why Truma Owners in North Alabama Come to Us
Authorization That Matters
Being listed on Truma's own website as a Service Partner is not a marketing claim - it is a verifiable credential. It means we have completed Truma's training program, have access to genuine parts, and are qualified to perform warranty work. You can confirm our listing at truma.com.
National Champion of RV Techs®
Brandon Galbreath holds the National Champion of RV Techs® credential - the highest individual technician recognition in the RV service industry. This is not a shop award. It belongs to the person doing the work. Truma systems require exactly this level of technical precision to diagnose and repair correctly.
Parts In Stock
We stock commonly needed Truma components. Most Truma repairs at other shops involve a week or more of waiting for parts. We minimize that delay so your RV is back in service faster.
Accurate Diagnosis First
Truma error codes tell you something is wrong. They do not always tell you exactly what to replace. We use Truma's diagnostic procedures - not guesswork - to confirm the root cause before ordering any part. You pay for what is actually broken, not what might be broken.
Truma Portable Fridges & Freezers
The Truma Cooler is a compressor-based portable fridge/freezer that delivers reliable performance regardless of outside temperature. Unlike absorption refrigerators that lose efficiency in heat, the Truma Cooler maintains temperature consistently - making it a popular upgrade for RVers who camp in warm conditions.
These units are not generally serviceable. When a compressor cooler fails, the repair cost typically exceeds the value of the unit. We carry Truma Cooler units and accessories and can help you select the right replacement if yours has reached the end of its useful life.
Truma RV System Service: Common Questions
Truma AquaGo error codes indicate specific faults. E1 means the unit tried to light three times and failed to detect a flame - check propane supply and valve position first. W27 means the circulation pump is running dry, most often from trapped air in the water lines - open each hot water faucet one at a time to purge air from the system. W29 means you are drawing more hot water simultaneously than the unit can supply - reduce the number of active outlets. W30 means the temperature inside the unit has dropped below 27°F and there is a risk of freezing - drain the unit or keep it running in eco or comfort mode to circulate water. W31 means decalcification has finished successfully - return the unit to eco or comfort mode to clear the code. We are an authorized Truma Service Partner with the tools and parts to resolve codes that require a trained technician.
